Death of retired Mayo teacher is deeply regretted
The death has occurred of Mary Daly (née Lyons), Westport Road, Castlebar, and late of Cloonacastle, Ballinrobe.
The deceased was a retired home economics teacher of St Joseph's Secondary School, Castlebar, where she was held in high regard by her colleagues and pupils alike.
Predeceased by her beloved husband Tom, darling son Tom Jnr., brothers Pat, Seamus, John and Tom, she is greatly missed by her sons Seamus and Pat, daughters Máire, Anne, Dympna, Ellen and Alice, sons-in-law John and Dónal, daughters-in-law Mary and Isobel, Ellen’s partner Chris and her twelve much loved grand-children, Conor, Ronan, Amy, David, Tom, Aoife, Lorna, Daniel, Niamh, Liam, Jack and Tom.
She is also deeply regretted by her sisters Breege O’ Donnell (Longford) and Lena McNicholas (Kilmaine), sister-in-law Mary Lyons, brother-in-law Mattie and her beloved nieces and nephews. Greatly missed by wonderful neighbours and friends, including those in the Castlebar Active Retirement Association.
Deepest sympathy is extended to the bereaved family on their loss.
Remains reposing at Coady’s Funeral Home today (Monday) from 5.30 until 7 p.m. with removal on Tuesday at 1.30 p.m. for Funeral Mass at 2 p.m. in the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar.
Mary will be laid to rest afterwards in the New Cemetery, Castlebar.
