Major extension approved for south Mayo school
INITIAL project approval has issued for a major extension to Ballinrobe Community School.
The extension will include four MCRs, a set room, music room, multimedia room, textile room, three science labs, a science prep area, art room, home economics room, technology room and technology pref area, and classroom SEN base, and user assisted WC.
Further works include the conversion of a lab into two SET rooms, conversion of three labs into one lab facility, conversion of technology room into a lab and one lab into a lab prep area, as well as the purchase of a 100m2 SEN for September 2023.
Welcoming the announcement, Deputy Michael Ring commented: “I am pleased that these works at Ballinrobe Community School have now been approved. I look forward to the works being completed and I’m sure that the teachers and students will benefit from the additional accommodation in their school.”
