Cup joy for Ballinrobe Town and Crossmolina in Milebush
Solar 21 Park saw emphatic wins for two Mayo clubs as the divisional cup finals got underway.
In the Tonra Cup Final, Ballinrobe Town went through the gears in the second half as goals from Danny O'Toole, Shane Ryan, Peter Butler and Jake Mulcahy secured a 4-0 win over Hollister. The win made it back-to-back divisional cup for the Town, having won the McDonnell Cup last season.
Another team that went back-to-back is Crossmolina. Last season's Tonra Cup and League One champions cruised to a 5-0 victory over an understrength Moy Villa, with Niall Coggins the hat trick hero. The other goals came from Fiachra Walsh and an own goal.
There will be another cup double header in Milebush this Sunday. At 12 p.m., Partry Athletic will take on Ballyheane B in the McDonnell Cup Final while heavyweights Ballina Town and Westport United will be involved in the Westaro Cup Final at 3 p.m.
