Proposal for mobile coffee outlet at Mayo lake amenity rejected

A PROPOSAL to allow for a mobile coffee outlet at the popular Lough Lannagh amenity in Castlebar has been rejected.

Castlebar Municipal District had been asked allow a licence for one mobile coffee operator to trade in the vicinity, particularly over the summer.

The idea was brought by way of a notice of motion by Councillor Ger Deere.

In a written reply ahead of a municipal district meeting this week, he was told Castlebar Municipal District adopted casual trading bye-laws in 2020. As Lough Lannagh, or its environs, is not a designated trading area the requested licence cannot be issued.
