Mayo men involved in major Sligo Rovers win in UEFA Europa Conference League

Sligo Rovers claimed a famous away win at Motherwell in the UEFA Europa Conference League and two Mayo men were key to their historic victory.

Belcarra's Luke McNicholas kept a clean sheet while Ballina's David Cawley wore the captain's armband in what was a terrific display by both players.

Aidan Keena scored the only goal of the game in the first half as the Bit O'Red secured a first-leg win over the Scottish top flight outfit at Fir Park. They will take their one-goal lead back to the Showgrounds next Thursday where they host Motherwell in the second-leg, with kick-off at 7 p.m.
