Travel agents from the United Arab Emirates explore Mayo
Seven travel agents from the United Arab Emirates are enjoying a fact-finding visit around Mayo and Ireland this week – as guests of Tourism Ireland and Fáilte Ireland.
Specially timed to coincide with the 15th anniversary of Etihad Airways’ operations from Abu Dhabi to Ireland, the visit has been organised in conjunction with Etihad, Amadeus and Leading Hotels of the World.
The aim of this week’s visit is to really enthuse the travel agents about our superb tourism offering and to showcase some of our top hotels, attractions and experiences. Their busy itinerary included Mayo; they stayed at Ashford Castle, where they enjoyed a spa experience and a hawk walk experience on the hotel grounds.
Aisling McDermott, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Asia and Middle East, said: “On the occasion of the 15th anniversary of Etihad Airways’ operations to Ireland, we are delighted to invite seven top travel agents from the UAE to visit Mayo and Ireland.
"Seeing is believing – and our aim is that when they return home, they will be even more enthusiastic about the destination, helping to secure a greater share of their business for Ireland in 2022 and beyond.”
