Funeral of Mayo man who lost his life in Limerick car accident

The funeral arrangements have been announced for Brian D. Mullin, Cloghans Hill, Kilmaine, who died tragically in a car accident at Patrickswell, Co. Limerick, last Sunday.

The accident, which has evoked a huge sense of sorrow and loss across south Mayo, also claimed the life of his friend, Sharon Ryan, Carras, Hollymount, who was also travelling in the car that collided with a van on the N21 roadway.

Predeceased by his grandparents Sonnie and Babe Kelly, Jim and Kitty Mullin, Brian is dearly loved and sadly missed by his heartbroken parents Jarlath and Noreen Mullin (née Kelly), brothers Sean, Jarlath, Oisin and Kevin, sisters Susan, Tara and Shannon, nephew Noah, partners Grainne, Blaithnead, Jess, Adrian, Shane, Ryan and Amber, aunts Myra (Glynn), Margaret (Doherty), Kathleen Kelly, Teresa (Burke), Anne (Moran), Mary Margaret (Mc Garry) and Winnie (Conroy), uncles Patsy and Jackie (Kelly), John, Jimmy and Gerard (Mullin), cousins and extended family and a large circle of friends, to whom heartfelt sympathy is tendered.

Remains will be reposing at Kilmaine Community Centre (eircode F31RC95) on Thursday evening from 4 until 8 p.m. followed by private removal to his home.

Requiem Mass takes place on Friday in St. Patrick’s Church, Kilmaine, at 2 p.m. with burial afterwards in the New Cemetery, Kilmaine.

In a tribute, the John McBride Gaelic Football Club in Chicago said Brian was a great friend to many in the club as well as the extended Irish community when he lived in Chicago.

"His smile and laughter lit up every room when he walked in. He will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of meeting him."
