Laurita and Joe tie the knot by the banks of Moy

GAA pundit and lawyer Joe Brolly and his podcaster/broadcaster fiancée Laurita Blewitt wed this afternoon in Ballina.

The civil ceremony took place in the Ice House on the banks of the River Moy.

Afterwards, the celebrations moved to Knockmore in the bride’s home parish where a special marquee has been set up.

President Joe Biden is expected to extend his best wishes to the couple via video link.

Laurita is a third cousin of President Biden.

She has met the president on a number of occasions including his recent trip to Ireland when he was vice-president.

President Biden has also warmly welcomed Laurita and Joe to the White House.

Michael English and his band have been engaged to supply the music at this evening's celebrations.

The guest list includes GAA stars and prominent figures from the world of showbiz and journalism.
