Passing of retired Mayo Garda Sergeant is widely regretted
The death has occurred of Bertie Davoren, retired Garda Sergeant, Belvedere House, Westport Road, Castlebar, and formerly of Moorfield Cross, Eyrecourt, Co. Galway.
He died peacefully yesterday at Mayo University Hospital.
Predeceased by his parents Gerard and Mary and his brother Gerald, he is deeply regretted by his heartbroken wife Maureen and family Gerard, Bertie, Mary, Damien, Declan, Regina and Adrian, brother Michael (Moorfield Cross, Ballinasloe), sisters Maureen McDonagh (Canada), Anna Glynn (Claregalway) and Teresa Naughton (Roscommon), son-in-law PJ O’Donnell, daughters-in-law Bea and Anne-Marie, grandchildren, Aaron, Adam, Grace, Odhrán, Portia, Sadhbh, Bláthín, Andrew, Stephen, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Deepest sympathy is tendered to the Davoren family on their loss.
The deceased was a very popular and respected personality in Castlebar and news of his passing has evoked an immense sense of loss in the community.
Remains reposing at his residence (F23 HX92) on Wednesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m.
Removal on Thursday morning at 11 a.m. for Funeral Mass at 11.30 a.m. in The Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar.
Burial takes place afterwards in the New Cemetery, Castlebar.
