Funding boost for Mayo Gaeltacht town

Minister of State for the Gaeltacht and Sport, Jack Chambers, has announced that the annual funding to be made available in future specific Gaeltacht Service Towns is being increased from €80,000 to €100,000 per year.

Belmullet is one of the towns benefiting from the investment.

It will receive €700,000 over the lifetime of its seven-year language plan.

Minister of State Chambers said he was delighted to make the additional funding available.
