Crossmolina promoted to the Mayo Super League for 2023

CROSSMOLINA joined Conn Rangers in winning promotion to the Super League with a 3-0 win over Westport United B on Saturday evening in United Park.

Goals from Micheal Gill, Niall Coggins and Vlad Gordetskyy secured a second successive promotion for Michael Canavan’s side who will have the chance to wrap up another league and cup double if they earn at least a point against Killala next weekend.

At the other end of the table, Killala’s fate was sealed as they were relegated to League One after a 3-1 defeat to Kiltimagh Knock United B. Goals from Shane Byrne, Liam McCormack and David Smith ensured John Tarpey’s side would be playing Premier Division football again next season.

Swinford got their second win in four games as they had a 1-0 win over Ballyglass in Michael Keaveney Park. The only goal of the game came in the first half when young striker Conor Devaney hit the winner for Chris McHale-Roe’s side.

Fahy Rovers and Moy Villa played out a thrilling 5-5 draw as both sides went for it in a game that meant very little for either. Moy Villa led 3-0 at one stage but needed a last gasp equaliser to earn a point in Fahy. Simon Duffy hit a hat-trick for John Creaby’s side with Gary and Kevin Concannon getting the other two goals while Tony Loftus (two), Stephen Moyles, Ciaran Gaughan and Luke Ruane got the goals for the away side.

In McDonnell Construction League Two, Partry Athletic’s title and promotion hopes were dealt a huge blow on Saturday evening when Claremorris B picked up all three points to remain on top of League Two with a 1-0 win in Partry courtesy of a Dave Hennessey goal. Following that win the title race will go right down to the final day with Castlebar Celtic B their most likely challengers as they lie a point behind with a game in hand.

Castlebar Celtic B's title hopes remain in their own hands after a resounding win over Ballyvary Blue Bombers in Keelogues while Conn Rangers C picked up their first win of the season with a 5-3 win over Fahy Rovers B in Mount Falcon.
