Mayo teams in action as AIG Cups and Shields finals continue at Slieve Russell

The opening weekend of the AIG Cups and Shields All-Ireland finals was a huge success, with four All-Ireland champions crowned in Tramore.

The action continues this week at PGA National Slieve Russell with the conclusion of the AIG Jimmy Bruen, AIG Senior Foursomes, AIG Minor Cup and AIG Challenge Cup.

Sixteen quarterfinalists are confirmed for each event, with Mayo's Ballinrobe (AIG Jimmy Bruen) and Westport (AIG Minor Cup) having qualified from the Connacht region.

Fortwilliam, Clontarf, East Cork, Coollattin, Killymoon, Wexford and Ballykisteen will all compete with Ballinrobe for the AIG Jimmy Bruen Shield title.

In the AIG Women's Minor Cup, Westport's rivals are Castle, Rockmount, Ardee, Ballyneety, Mallow, Cill Dara and Greenacres.

Headfort, Greystones, Belvoir Park, Tubbercurry, Fintona, Cill Dara, Adare Manor and Tipperary will be in action in the AIG Challenge Cup, which begins on Friday.

Roscommon return following their semi-final defeat in the AIG Women's Senior Cup and are also represented in the AIG Senior Foursomes quarterfinal line-up that gets underway on Saturday morning alongside Belvoir Park, Elm Park, Malone, Royal Tara, Ballybunion, Mallow and Kilkenny.

Play begins tomorrow (Wednesday) from 8 a.m. with the AIG Minor Cup quarterfinals. The finals of each event will take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Follow the action here.
