Mayo GAA awaiting referee's report on abandoned match

Mayo GAA has stated it is are aware of an incident that occurred at the County Under-17 football semi-final between Westport and Castlebar Mitchels yesterday evening.

A statement issued by John Walker, public relations officer. stated: "Mayo County Board is awaiting the official referees report and will address the matter at a CCC meeting later this week.

"No further comment will be made at this time by Mayo GAA County Board."

A video of the incident has emerged and it is circulating on social media.

It is unclear whether the footage will form part of the GAA's investigation into the matter.

A decision in relation to the CCC's recommendation is expected to be announced by the weekend.
