Council urged to make proposal to Mayo hotel investors

Mayo County Council has been advised to sell Mayo Motor Tax Office to the investors in the Imperial Hotel, Castlebar.

Councillor Ger Deere said his proposal would help provide an adequate site for a state-of-the-art boutique hotel at a lovely location.

“The Imperial Hotel site is very confined. The acquisition of the additional property would definitely be an asset for the developers and it should be considered by the council at this time,” he added.

The motor tax office building also accommodates the regional roads office.
