Stars of Achill film on Late Late Show this week

THE stars of The Banshees of Inisherin, filmed in Achill last year, will be among the guests on the Late Late Show this Friday.

Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson and Barry Keoghan will be joined by Dr. Siobhán Doyle, Brendan O'Carroll, Paul Galvin, Moya Brennan and Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh for the show's line-up.

A-listers Farrell, Gleeson and Keoghan will be on the sofa to talk all things from donkeys, to island life, to the Oscar buzz.

Largely filmed on Achill Island, the film received a standing ovation at its world premiere at the Venice International Film Festival.

Set in 1923, The Banshees of Inisherin follows lifelong friends Pádraic (Farrell) and Colm (Gleeson), who find themselves at an impasse when Colm unexpectedly puts an end to their friendship.

Also on the show, Brendan O'Carroll will talk about his new autobiography, the first-ever hurling ball and the plaque that drove Armagh to victory in the 2002 All-Ireland football final are just some of the famous GAA objects being looked at with historian Dr. Siobhán Doyle that have helped make the GAA the global success it is today, while writer, designer and proud Kerryman Paul Galvin joins Ryan Tubridy to discuss weaving storytelling into Irish men’s clothes and taking inspiration from the GAA pitch.

The people of Creeslough are in the thoughts and prayers of the nation this week and Moya Brennan and Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh will perform a special musical tribute for the victims of the tragedy in the Co. Donegal village.
