McVerry Trust seek planning for eight-unit Castlebar project

THE Peter McVerry Trust is progressing plans for an eight-unit housing development in Castlebar town.

It will be located on Ellison Street, with the redevelopment of the upstairs portion of the Ellison House property.

A planning application has been submitted to Mayo County Council for a change of use from office to residential, with the provision of eight single bedroom units for sheltered housing.

Application documents set out how the existing first and second floor spaces of the building are vacant and unfinished from the date of construction.

The existing development also contains two retail units on the ground floor that are under separate ownership and are not subject to the planning application.
