Consulting engineers appointed for Mayo climbing wall

CONSULTING engineers have been appointed to progress the development of a climbing wall and outdoor pursuits facility at the leisure complex at Lough Lannagh in Castlebar.

The news has been confirmed to local councillors in a projects update ahead of their monthly meeting next week.

The facility will be used by the public and students attending the outdoor education course at ATU Mayo.

Also in relation to the leisure complex, on October 17 an expression of interest for service provision at the Lough Lannagh facility was advertised by Mayo County Council. The deadline for submission of all expressions of interest is Friday, October 28.

The leisure facility was recently nominated for an award by a member of the public as part of National Recovery Day for individuals and organisations who were inspiring within the area of alcohol, drugs and mental health, which was presented at the TF Royal Hotel by the Two Norries.
