Eir’s high-speed fibre network delivered to 33,000 Mayo homes and businesses

Eir, Ireland’s leading telecommunications company, has now delivered its super fast fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) to more than 69% of homes and businesses on its planned fibre rollout across Mayo.

On completion this FTTH network will be available to 48,000 premises in Mayo and 84% or 1.9million homes and businesses in the country, meaning Ireland is on the way to becoming one of the most fibre connected countries in the world.

To assist in the build of Ireland’s largest fibre network the company is calling for the next generation of apprentices to join its apprenticeship programme.

The new recruits will join the team building and maintaining open eir’s fibre network, which will reach all corners of Ireland, providing 1.9m homes and businesses across the county with access to future-proof FTTH technology.

The open eir apprentice programme ensures we have the best talent in place to continue building and maintaining Ireland’s largest fibre network into the future.
