Mayo councillor set to launch book about his late father Henry Coyle

A fascinating insight into Ireland's forgotten freedom fighters

Mayo County Councillor Gerry Coyle has written a book about my late father, IRA Commandant Henry Coyle, one of Ireland’s forgotten freedom fighters.

It is entitled 'Ireland’s Forgotten Freedom Fighters'.

Featuring articles on some other forgotten patriots, it will be officially launched in the Erris Coast Hotel, Geesala, at 5 p.m. on Bank Holiday Monday next, October 31, at 5 p.m.

Everyone is welcome to come along, light refreshments will be served and the book will be for sale on the evening.

With the assistance of Jimmy Laffey, Councillor Coyle's story about his father's life is fascinating and it is expected to be a best-seller locally on the run-up to Christmas.

Henry Coyle was a former Mayo TD who, until now, had been written out of history.
