Portwest open newly refurbished store in Westport

Portwest have opened their newly refurbished store on Shop Street in Westport following an extensive refurbishment project that has seen the store become the largest outdoor store in the county.

The shop will become the brand’s flagship store and will offer a top-class shopping experience to all its customers.

Portwest is a company long associated with the town of Westport, it’s origins can be traced back to 1904 when Charles Hughes first established a small retail store in Westport.

Today, it is a company that is known worldwide for producing exceptional quality workwear, PPE, hand and foot protection and outdoor clothing.

Portwest is headquartered in Westport and continues to be a family owned business, now managed by the third generation of the Hughes.

Based in the West of Ireland, where the landscape is rugged and the weather is unpredictable, the Portwest Outdoor range is designed and tested to provide superior protection in the outdoors.

The extensive range has something for all the family, from cosy fleeces and waterproof jackets to hats, gloves and waterproof trousers.

The watersports range has recently been extended and this Summer Portwest were delighted to launch new products such as their Stand-Up Paddle board, Towelling Robes and Changing Robes, all of which were a huge success.

Portwest have four retail outlets along the Wild Atlantic Way, in Westport, Galway and Kerry.

As well as their own Irish designed range they also stock clothing, accessories and footwear from well known brands such as Berghaus, Helly Hansen, Columbia and many more.

The new store is the result of months of planning and hard work and is something the whole company is very proud of and are looking forward to welcoming customers old and new alike into.
