Mayo's Kocoono wins Three’s Grant for Small Businesses bursary

MAYO business Kocoono has been announced as one of 10 winners of the Three Ireland 2022 Grants for Small Businesses, securing a portion of a €100,000 bursary.

Kocoono is a wellness company run by Emer Flannery, created to support people to sleep better, relax the nervous system and reduce stress and anxiety in the body, naturally.

The grant programme, funded by Three Ireland and managed by the small business network and support provider, Enterprise Nation, seeks to fund 10 small businesses each with a €10,000 prize fund. The bursary will be made up of a combination of cash, connectivity solutions from Three Ireland, as well as professional advice and support from Three Ireland’s expert business advisers.

Kocoono's patented product, the Weighted Blanket LUXE - with removeable weights - applies deep touch pressure to the body, allowing it to naturally calm the nervous system.

With a strong focus on mental health aid, Kocoono will use Three’s Grant for Small Businesses to provide samples and talks to mental health services as well as to boost marketing efforts in Ireland and the UK.

Said Padraig Sheerin, head of SME, Three Ireland: “We are incredibly proud to support Ireland’s SME’s through our Grants for Small Businesses. For the second consecutive year, Three has partnered with Enterprise Nation on this programme, to assist small businesses in their growth and development. The volume of applicants and the calibre of Irish SME’s operating today are truly outstanding.

“While competition was fierce, I am delighted to award Kocoono from Mayo this prize and we look forward to seeing the business thrive in the months and years ahead with our support.”
