Signage thieves have struck again in central Mayo

Signage thieves have struck again in a central Mayo community.

Road signs in the Carnacon/Moorehall area have been stripped from their poles in the last three weeks.

The issue was highlighted by Councillor Al McDonnell.

The councillor pointed out that there are lots of visitors to Moorehall and the signs indicating Ballinrobe, Castlebar, Claremorris and Carnacon are important.

“All that is left is the poles,” he stated.

Councillor Blackie Gavin suggested the signs need to be welded onto the posts.
