Other Abbey Players back on the boards in Mayo venue

This time they present "Wake in the West" by Mayo author Michael J. Ginnelly.

The play will be staged at the Crossroads Community Centre, Cong, on Saturday and Sunday, November 19 and 20, with curtains up at 8 p.m.

The play is set during the wake of Tom Healy who was known to be fond of a drop and now wishes his grave to be a watery one by requesting cremation and the scattering of his ashes at sea.

The mayhem begins when a neighbour decides Tom is not entitled to take everything with him.

This laugh-a-minute comedy, with a large cast comprising of actors from Cong , Cross , Neale , Ballinrobe, Hollymount and Robeen, is not to be missed.

Booking from Cong Post Office 094 9546001 or, at weekends, on 087 2896850. Early booking is advised.
