Win your dream Christmas with south Mayo town's Lakes Gift Card
THE Lakes Gift Card has launched a new festive competition as part of a drive to encourage local shopping this Christmas.
The Win Your Dream Christmas competition offers a chance to win a €1,000 Lakes Gift Card.
The Lakes Gift Card launched in 2020 to support local businesses, driven by Ballinrobe Community Development Council (CDC) and Ballinrobe Enterprise Organisation (BEO).
Over 95 businesses accept the gift card, including The Lodge at Ashford Castle, Murphy’s Newsagent and Aran Islands Knitwear.
Chairperson of Ballinrobe CDC Pat Donnellan said: “Who wouldn’t want to win a €1,000 Lakes Gift Card this Christmas? The winner could spend their gift card buying festive food and drink at Devour Bakery, Heneghan Butchers and Ryan’s Food Emporium. Maybe they’d treat the family to a Christmas meal out at Flannery's Bistro or Burke’s. They could get their gifts from Rare and Recent Books and Walkin’s, or enjoy some relaxation time at Vanity Fair.
“The Lakes Gift Card was introduced as a means to encourage local spend and keep money locked into the local economy. The cost of living crisis is affecting everyone, businesses included, and the shop local message is as important as it ever was.
“Through the Lakes Gift Card, people can give the gift of unbeatable local choice, safe in the knowledge that the money on the card has to be spent in Ballinrobe and the surrounding areas, keeping businesses open and our economy thriving.”
The Lakes Gift Card is part of the award-winning Town & City Gift Card concept from fintech Miconex, active in over 150 places across the world.
Launched on November 7 and ending on Monday, November 28, the Win Your Dream Christmas competition is offering one winner a €1,000 discount code to use on the Town & City Gift Cards website. The winner can select local gift cards from one or more of the 80 plus Town & City Gift Cards in Ireland and the UK, physical or digital, up to the value of €1,000 - including The Lakes Gift Card.
