Request to tweak south Mayo library opening

A BALLINROBE councillor wants to seeing the opening days for the local library tweaked.

The library is closed on Fridays, Councillor Michael Burke told a council meeting that deals with library matters.

A few people have contacted him about this, where older people are in town on Fridays and young people are home from college, but the facility isn't open.

He asked if it was possible to look at having it open on Fridays and closed on a different day during the week.

County librarian Austin Vaughan said the service could look at having it open on Fridays.
