FR. JOHN SMYTH, STRAIDE
Fr. John Smyth, Straide, Foxford and formerly Columban Missionary in Korea.
Predeceased by his parents Brigid and Thomas, brothers Joe, Michael and T.J. and sister Teresa, Sister Mary of the Sacred Heart. (Sisters of Charity). Sadly missed by his brothers Fr. Patrick and Fr. Malachy (Columban Missionaries in Korea), sisters-in-law May, Bea-Anne and Nancy; nephews, nieces, grand-nephews, grand-nieces, Columban Missionary Colleagues, relatives, neighbours and many friends.
Fr. John will repose in The Sharkey Funeral Home, Ballaghaderreen on Tuesday from 2 until 4 p.m. and later that evening at Templemore Lodge, Straide (F26 T623) from 6 until 8 p.m. Removal on Wednesday to St. Peter and Paul’s Church, Straide arriving for Concelebrated Funeral Mass at 12 noon, followed by Interment in the Church grounds.
MAUREEN LAVELLE, BALLINA
The death has occurred of Maureen Lavelle (née Connolly) of Burton Street House, Killala Road, Ballina and formerly of Boherduff, Claremorris. Peacefully, at her residence, surrounded by her family.
Predeceased by her parents John and Molly and her beloved son John. Maureen, beloved wife of Eddie and loving mother of Edward (Ed) (Dublin), Yvonne (Ballina) and Regina. Sadly missed by her loving husband, son, daughters, sisters Nellie Higgins and Phil McMananon, grandchildren Ben, Róisín, Milo, Izarra, Colm, Aoibhínn and Elizabeth, in-laws, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
Reposing at McGowan's Funeral Home, Ballina on Monday evening from 5:30 until 7 p.m. Funeral will arrive to St. Muredach's Cathedral, Ballina, on Tuesday morning for Requiem Mass at 11:30 a.m. followed by burial in Leigue Cemetery, Ballina.
PHILOMENA O'BRIEN, CLAREMORRIS
Philomena (Phil) O'Brien (née Cunniffe), James Street, Claremorris. Phil died peacefully at The Brookvale Manor Nursing Home, Ballyhaunis.
Predeceased by her husband Derry. She will be sadly missed by her loving family, Mary Angela, Vincent and Marguerite, daughter-in-law Beatrice, grandsons Dermot and Thomas, nephews and nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Reposing at Gilligan’s funeral home Market Square, Claremorris (F12YP74) on Tuesday evening from 6 o.c. with removal at 8 o.c. to St Colman’s Church, Claremorris, Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 1p.m. with burial afterwards in St. Colman’s Cemetery, Claremorris.
KATE GREEANEY, SHRULE
The peaceful death has taken place of Kate Greaney (née Hughes) late of Cortoon, Shrule, and Reading, England.
Predeceased by her beloved husband, Mick, Kate will be sadly missed but most lovingly remembered by her son, Michael (Reading), her daughter, June Hayes, (Huntingdon), daughter-in-law, Suzanne, son-in-law, Mick: her grandchildren, Steven, Thomas and Coleen; great-grandchildren, Sylviana, Tillin, Oscar and Erin, nephews, nieces and all other relatives, friends, neighbours and everyone whose lives, Kate touched.
Arriving at St. Patrick's Church, Kilmaine, on Thursday for Mass of the Resurrection at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in the New Cemetery, Kilmaine.
