RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta live from the Mayo Gaeltacht
RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta will be heading for Oileán Acla in the Mayo Gaeltacht for a special live programme on Monday next, December 19, at 9.15 a.m., and for the recording of a special concert to be broadcast on the station over Christmas.
RTÉ RnaG’s western magazine programme Iris Aniar will be broadcast live from Coláiste Pobail Acla on Monday morning.
The show will feature interviews with the school community there, as well as live musical performances from the students, and the special Gradam John Twin Award will also be presented as part of the event.
Then, tune in on Christmas Eve (December 24) at 7 p.m. to hear Nead na Nollag, a special concert recorded live in the school.
The concert will feature music, poetry, song and storytelling, and will celebrate the rich musical tradition and heritage of the area. It will be presented by Clodagh Ní Ghallóglaigh, a pupil in Coláiste Pobail Acla.
