The death has occurred of Michael J. Laffey of Middlesbrough, U.K and formerly of Carrowkeribla, Attymass, Ballina. Peacefully at the Parkville Care Nursing Home, Middlesbrough UK.

Predeceased by his parents Tom and Ellen Laffey, sisters Mary Sexton, Bridie O’Dowd and his brother Peter. Michael was uncle to Denise and Graham Terry and Adrienne O’Dowd, great-uncle to Kerry, Sami, Tom and Steven, great-greatuncle to Matilda, Ruby, Dottie, Vinnie and Ronnie. Sadly missed by all his relatives.

Reposing at McGowan's Funeral Home, Ballina, on Sunday morning from 9 with removal at 10 to St. Joseph's Church, Attymass, arriving for 10.30 a.m. Mass, followed by burial in Bonnifinglass Cemetery, Attymass.

MARY NEWELL, GLENCORRIB

Mary Newell, Kilroe, Ower, Headford, Co. Galway, and Glencorrib. Peacefully, at The Galway Clinic, surrounded by her loving family.

Deeply regretted by her brother James, sisters Anne O'Sullivan (Ballycurrin), Kay O'Callaghan (Kilroe), Claire McGrath (Cong) and Geraldine Gaughran (Headford), brothers-in-law Pat, John Joe and Ray, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends. Mary is predeceased by her parents John and Annie, brother Albert, sister-in-law Noretta and brother-in law Joe.

Reposing at Carey's Funeral Home, Headford (H91E6X9), on Thursday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. Removal from her home on Friday morning to arrive at Church of the Immaculate Conception, Glencorrib, for requiem Mass at 12 noon. Funeral afterwards to Killursa Cemetery.

Michael (Neil) Cafferkey, Croydon, Surrey, UK and formerly of Doona, Ballycroy. Michael passed away, suddenly, at his sister Nora's residence in Newport.

Sadly missed by his heartbroken wife Eve and his much loved daughters Melissa and Sinead and son-in-law Dan, brothers John, Jimmy, Brian (Croydon), Peter (Ballycroy), Gerry (Leixlip), sisters Mary, Nora (Newport), Teresa (Cambridge), Brid (London), aunts Eileen (Ballycroy), Kathleen (Birmingham), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and all of his many friends.

Reposing at the Church of the Holy Family, Ballycroy on Thursday evening from 6 o’clock until 8 o’clock. Requiem Mass on Friday at 12 noon followed by burial in the adjacent cemetery

CHRISTINA DEIGNAN, BALLINA

Christina Deignan (née Flanagan), 4 Bóthar Synge, Geesala, Ballina and formerly of Manchester, England and Slatta, Co. Roscommon, who died peacefully at her residence.

Predeceased by her beloved son Michael, her parents Joseph and Ellen Flanagan and brothers Daniel and Johnny. Beloved mother of Andrew (Manchester) and Helen McGuire (Geesala). She will be sadly missed by her heartbroken family – Frank (Andy), son-in-law Brendan, grandchildren Cameron, Megan, Michael, Éire, Thomas, Caitlin and Patrick, nephew John, grandniece Catherine, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Remains reposing at her residence in Geesala on Thursday afternoon from 4 until 7 p.m. Remains will arrive at St. Colmcille’s Church, Geesala, on Friday evening for Funeral Mass at 6 p.m. Funeral services will take place in Manchester at a later date.

Teresa (Tess) Landy, (née Downey), Peacockstown, Kilbride, Co. Meath and formerly of Gortnara. Died peacefully in the loving care of Ratoath Manor Nursing Home.

Removal Saturday, December 17, to Holy Trinity Church, Ratoath arriving for 10 a.m. funeral Mass. burial afterwards in Parish Cemetery.

Dearly beloved and cherished wife of Tony and mother of Seamus (Newport), Pat (Knockmuinard) and Majella Mulchrone (Dooncastle). Sisters, Kathleen (Ohio, USA), Mary (Cleveland, UK) brother Micheal (Islandeady), daughter-in-law Niamh, son-in-law Sean. Her adoring and truly adored grandchildren, James, Jack, Eva, Darragh, Molly, Charlie and Noah.

Reposing at her residence Wednesday evening from 4 to 8 p.m. Removal on Thursday morning at 11 a.m. to Church of the Holy Family, Fahy for mass at 12 noon with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

JOE MCNICHOLAS, KILTIMAGH

Joe McNicholas, Enfield Co. Meath, London and formerly of Treenagleeragh, Kiltimagh. Peacefully in London.

Predeceased by his wife Nora, parents Tom and Mary Ellen, sisters Bernadette and Teresa and baby brother Colm. Sadly missed by his daughters, Marie and Anne and son Joseph, brothers Ollie and Sean, sisters Mary B, Anne, Margaret and Veronica.
