Uproar over consistent dumping on Mayo street

The consistent nature of dumping at Rush Street in Castlebar is causing local uproar.

The issue has been highlighted by Councillor Donna Sheridan.

She said she has been watching the situation closely and it's getting worse by the week.

She said: "I took photographs to show Castlebar Municipal District officials just how bad it is.

"As the images show, there is need for urgent action because this is happening on such a regular basis."

Councillor Michael Kilcoyne stated those responsible should be prosecuted.

"It's downgrading the image of our town centre and has to be tackled head-on and a stop put to it once and for all," he added.
