Nollaig na mBan celebration in Mayo town
For for the first time since January 2019, a Mayo museum is ready to officially celebrate Nollaig na mBan to round off Christmas.
With the assistance of Ballina Costume Company, the Jackie Clarke Collection has decided to celebrate the wonderful volunteers who make the community and town a place to be proud of.
Ballina Costume Company would like to meet and thank all who were involved in the Famine Quilt project, the volunteers who made PPE and collected and delivered it, those who donated money, and anyone else who helped out in any way during the pandemic.
In fact, everyone is invited (and yes, that includes men!) to join the Jackie Clarke Collection and Ballina Costume Company for a cuppa and a chat, with a couple of Christmas tunes thrown in to round off the festive season.
It all takes place tomorrow (Friday) from 12 noon to 4 p.m. Find out more at www.clarkecollection.ie, or contact the museum on (096) 73508 or clarkecollection@mayococo.ie.
The Jackie Clarke Collection is located at Pearse Street, Ballina (entrance at the side of the building on Walsh Street). It opens from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday and entrance is free.
