Young Mayo athlete invited to compete at major Boston event

Clodagh Gill of Moy Valley Athletic Club has been invited to compete in the World Indoor Tour Gold meeting in Boston on February 4 next.

The young Ballina schoolgirl received an invitation to compete in the High School Mile, where she will take on the best high school milers in the USA.

The New Balance Indoor Grand Prix is one of the top indoor meets in the world and the experience is bound to prove very valuable to Clodagh, who finished in the top four at the European Youth Olympics in Slovakia last summer.

Clodagh, who will be accompanied on the trip by her mother Loretta, is coached by Philip Finnerty at Moy Valley AC.
