Mayo team for FBD League semi-final announced

Mayo GAA manager Kevin McStay has named his team for the FBD Connacht GAA Football League semi-final against Galway.

The game will be played tomorrow (Saturday) at the University of Galway Connacht GAA Air Dome in Bekan, throwing in at 5.30 p.m.

Jack Coyne, who impressed with his club Ballyhaunis in winning the Mayo intermediate football championship last year, starts at corner back, with Fenton Kelly from Davitts getting his first start for his county at wing-back.

Matthew Ruane from Breaffy, who captains the team on the day, and Jordan Flynn from Crossmolina Deel Rovers make up a formidable midfield partnership, while Fionn McDonagh of newly crowned Mayo senior champions Westport returns to the starting 15 in attack.

He will be partnered up front by Conor McStay from Ballina Stephenites and Bryan Walsh from Ballintubber GAA in the half-forward line, with the experienced James Carr leading the attack at full-forward flanked by Aiden Orme from Knockmore and Paul Towey from Charlestown Sarsfields in the corners.

There will be updates on the game across all the Mayo GAA social media platforms, while it will be streamed live by Connacht GAA.
