Speed limit review requested in historic central Mayo village

THE community in Turlough is requesting a review of the speed limit on an approach to the village.

Turlough Community Development Association have requested the current 50km speed limit location on the approach road to the village on the L1719 - coming from Castlebar - be reviewed.

A proposal has been submitted to revise the location of the speed limit away from the entrance to Leicnin Village estate.

The request was highlighted on the Turlough Community Heritage Village Facebook page, where it was stated: 'This and other traffic calming measures being considered by Mayo County Council would help address road safety concerns raised by residents and motorists in the area.'
