Passing of Bridie Jordan is mourned in Mayo

The death has taken place of Bridie Jordan (neé Graven), Springfield, Castlebar, and formerly of Polranny, Achill.

A member of a popular and much-loved family, news of her passing has evoked an immense sense of loss in the community.

A tribute on social media has described the deceased as "a very kind and caring lady who always made people feel so welcome in her lovely home in Springfield."

She was predeceased by her beloved husband Paddy, her daughter Yvonne, daughter-in-law Sabina, parents Michael and Margaret Graven, sister Mary Ann Sweeney and brothers Michael, Séamas and Thomas.

Bridie is deeply regretted by her loving family Michael, Mishella, Caroline, Padriac and Marianna, sister Katie, brother Séan and his wife Bríd, sons-in-law Colin and Duncan, grandchildren Rachael, Ryan, Stephen, Deirdre, Sinead, Orlaith, Iseult and Éabha, great grandchildren Rian and Ronan, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends, to whom deepest sympathy is tendered.

Remains will be reposing at Coady’s Funeral Home on Friday evening at 5.30 p.m. with removal at 7 p.m. to the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar.

Requiem Mass takes place on Saturday at 11.30 a.m. followed by burial afterwards in Breaffy Cemetery.
