Search ongoing for Mayo man missing for twelve days

A search is ongoing for a Mayo man who has been missing for 12 days.

Seamus Cawley (68), Crossmolina, has not been seen since the morning of Monday, January 16, last.

He left his home at 10 a.m. on the date in question in a silver Volkswagen Golf, with an 2008 registration.

The multi-agency search operation involves the River Moy Search and Rescue, the Grainne Uaile Search and Recovery Unit, Boyne Fisherman River Rescue from Drogheda, as well as their Western Division based in Mayo, Garda divers, the Civil Defence, the Coast Guard, Inland fishery personnel and local volunteers and boatmen.

The search is concentrated today along the River Deel from Knockadine bridge out into Lough Conn.
