Funding granted for emergency works in north Mayo school
The news that funding has been approved for emergency works at a north Mayo school has been welcomed by local TDs.
Deputy Alan Dillon (Fine Gael) said he was informed by the Department of Education that funding has been approved under the Emergency Works Scheme for Behy National School, Beheymore, Ballina, for mechanical and electrical works.
Said Deputy Dillon: “I want to compliment school principal Patrick Cunnane and his staff for the tremendous work they are doing to ensure the future of this school. I am hopeful the works will get underway soon.”
Deputy Dara Calleary (Fianna Fáil) explained that the work will include the replacement of the heating system in the old part of the school building.
“Congratulations to Mr. Cunnane, his board of management and staff,” Deputy Calleary concluded.
