Taoiseach meets with management at Mayo airport
TAOISEACH Leo Varadkar has visited Mayo to meet with the management of Ireland West Airport.
Deputy Alan Dillon said the visit, on Friday last, was an important opportunity for An Taoiseach to meet with the management of the facility and get an update on future developments at the airport.
Deputy Dillon said the delay in the development of the Strategic Development Zone (SDZ) at the airport was highlighted to An Taoiseach.
“Both management and myself highlighted to An Taoiseach the need for further engagement with state agencies such as the IDA and Enterprise Ireland, as well as Mayo County Council, to develop this much needed SDZ,” he commented.
Deputy Dillon paid tribute to the management and wonderful staff at the airport, who he said do a fantastic job.
“I will continue to work hard into the future to secure further investments to ensure this facility thrives into 2023 and beyond,” said Deputy Dillon.
