Serious traffic congestion on Mayo's N5 following collision

Gardai and emergency services have attended the scene of a collision along the N5 in Mayo.

The accident occurred at the junction for the Corrib Oil service station in Swinford.

It has been confirmed that two vehicles, a truck and a car, were involved and one person has been hospitalised with injuries.

The road has now reopened.

Traffic coming from the Castlebar direction had been diverted at Bohola.

Diversions were also in place on the Swinford side of the road.

The section of the route from Bohola to Charlestown was closed to traffic for an extended period.
