Area plan for Mayo's county town goes on display

THE local area development plan for Castlebar has gone on public display from today (Tuesday).

Members of the public are urged to view the plan online or in council offices and make submissions.

The public consultation period is six weeks.

Castlebar Municipal District cathaoirleach Councillor Michael Kilcoyne has called on local people to check the maps and put forward their proposals, so they can be considered by the elected members.

The draft plan and reports may be inspected from today (Tuesday, February 28) to Tuesday, April 11, at the planning office in Áras an Chontae or Mayo County Library.

All documents are also available to download from the council’s website, mayo.ie, and at https://consult.Mayo.ie/.

The closing date for submissions or observations is Tuesday, April 11, at 5 p.m.
