River wall repairs urgently needed in Mayo county town to protect road

THE river wall at Marian Row in Castlebar needs to be repaired.

If not done this year a section of the road will collapse, Councillor Blackie Gavin has predicted.

The river wall is in a terrible state, he told a local municipal district meeting, and it desperately needs to be repaired.

“It's highly dangerous and it needs to be done,” he stated.
