Works at popular Mayo forest walk explained

Works have been taking place at Rehins Woods, Newport Road, Castlebar.

A sign erected at the entrance by Coillte Teo, the semi-state forestry agency, explained maintenance works were ongoing.

The works are part of "the normal management of the forest," the notice explained.

A number of trails have been temporarily closed with diversions in place.

An apology was extended to those whose plans were affected by the works.

A section of the car park has also been closed for upgrading works.
