Connacht GAA has finalised the fixtures in this year's senior football championship.

Mayo kick into action on Sunday, April 9, with a quarterfinal at home to Roscommon. The game will throw in at 4 p.m. in Hastings Insurance MacHale Park, Castlebar. The two teams meet in a Division 1 league game next Sunday and could play each other in the league final just a week before the championship clash.

The Connacht championship action starts on Saturday, April 8, with the quarterfinals between New York and Leitrim in Gaelic Park (11 p.m. Irish time) and London and Sligo in Ruislip (3 p.m.).

The semi-finals will be played over the weekend of April 22/23. On Saturday, April 22, the winners of the Sligo v London and New York v Leitrim games will face each other, while on Sunday, April 23, whichever team comes through the Mayo v Roscommon face-off will take on Galway.

The final is scheduled to be played on Sunday, May 7, at 2 p.m. There will be extra time and a finish on the day in all games.

Meanwhile, Mayo's Diarmuid O'Connor has been voted GAA.ie Footballer of the Week. The Ballintubber star received 4,283 votes on the GAA’s official Instagram page, which put him ahead of Derry's Shane McGuigan (2,777), and Cork's Chris Óg Jones (2,355) following last weekend's games.
