Mayo Young Sports Stars: European medal for experienced performer

Savate fighter Shane Mitchell has enjoyed a whole host of domestic victories, and has fought in Northern Ireland and in Europe since a young age.

His fine athletic career to date culminated last year in a European Cadets title, which he earned in Austria.

Despite his tender years, White Tiger Martial Arts member Shane has fought at local, national and international level since he was nine, so he has plenty of experience – which he used to great effect to win the European title last year.

His 2022 Connaught Telegraph Young Sports Star Award will be presented at the ceremony on Friday in Breaffy House Resort, Castlebar.
