Tributes to much-loved Mayo woman on her passing
The death of Nora McCormack (née Downes), Saleen, Castlebar, is widely regretted.
She died peacefully at her residence yesterday in the loving care of daughter Emma.
Predeceased by her daughter Naomh and her husband Ger, she is deeply regretted by her daughter Emma and her partner Peadar, brothers Martin and Kieran, sisters-in-law Irene and Marie and brother-in-law Philip, to whom sympathy is tendered.
The family has extended a sincere thank you to Nora's wonderful carers, Lindi, Myleen and Clare, Dr. Kay Moran and all the palliative care staff.
Many warm tributes have been paid to the deceased on social media.
"She was a warm, friendly, lovely lady and always had a smile and kind words when you met her," one stated.
Another said: "Such a wonderful lady."
Nora was a former Lady Captain of Castlebar Golf Club and she also served as president of Castlebar Bridge Club.
Remains reposing at her residence (F23 Y362) this evening (Friday) from 5.30 to 6.30 p.m.
Removal from her residence on Saturday at 11.15 a.m. for Funeral Mass at 12 noon in the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar.
Nora will be laid to rest afterwards at the Old Cemetery, Castlebar.
May her gentle soul rest in peace.
