€17,752 for new community playground in north Mayo
FUNDING in the amount of €17,752 has been allocated for a new community playground at Killala Road Neighbourhood Park, Ballina, under the Capital Grant Scheme for Play and Recreation.
The scheme supports the work of local authorities in improving access to quality play and recreation facilities within their communities.
Confirming the allocation, Deputy Michael Ring said: “This funding will have a very positive impact for the children and families of this area. This funding will ensure that all children can enjoy and avail of the benefits of high quality play facilities.”
He continued: “The government is committed to investing in safe, accessible and innovative play infrastructure. Children will reap the rewards of this investment in their physical development, social development and wellbeing.
“I look forward to seeing this new community playground when it is constructed and I have no doubt that it will provide much joy to the children of the area, surrounding areas and visitors.”
