Capacity pressures at Mayo hospital back in the spotlight
Up to 30 patients have been left without beds at Mayo University Hospital due to ongoing capacity pressures.
Thirteen are in the emergency department and 17 in wards elsewhere.
The Castlebar facility is also dealing with 20 Covid cases.
Nationally, 593 admitted patients are waiting for beds this morning, according to today’s INMO Trolley Watch.
Of those, 447 patients are waiting in the emergency department while 146 are in wards elsewhere in the hospital.
