Portwest sponsor new t-shirts for Mayo Fleadh Cheoil
WESTPORT clothing company Portwest has sponsored and printed bespoke t-shirts for the 2023 Mayo Fleadh Cheoil, which is taking place in Westport from May 10 to 14.
Over 800 competitors from all over Mayo and their families will be descending on the town for this festival of traditional music, song and dance, with a host of cultural events organised around the competitions.
Speaking at the presentation of the t-shirts to Westport Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann, Orla Hughes said Portwest were delighted to be able to support the Mayo Fleadh Cheoil in Westport this year.
“It is going to be a great few days for everyone in the town and the fleadh is the perfect way to kick start the tourism season in Mayo. We are delighted to be able to help in a small way.
“I want to wish Westport Comhaltas all the best and I hope everyone has a very enjoyable time during the fleadh,” commented Hughes.
Mayo Fleadh Cheoil chairperson and Westport CCÉ member Piaras Ó Raghallaigh thanked Portwest for their sponsorship, saying the company was rooted in the local community.
“Portwest is a global company that always thinks local. We are so lucky to have such a reputable company in our own town that contributes so much to the local community. We are just thrilled that they have rowed in behind the 2023 Mayo Fleadh and I want to thank them sincerely for all they do for the town,” commented Ó Raghallaigh.
Westport will be a hive of activity during the Mayo Fleadh with a host of fringe events taking place around the competitions.
“The Fleadh committee has done Trojan over the past eight months and I just hope everyone comes out now and enjoys the different events, concerts, recitals, launches, talks, tours and exhibitions,” said Ó Raghallaigh.
Anyone that would like to purchase a 2023 Mayo Fleadh t-shirt can get them from the Fleadh Office at Scoil Pádraig from May 10 to 14 or from select shops in Westport leading up the fleadh.
