Interest grows in Mayo ahead of tomorrow's GAA round robin draw

Following the weekend's GAA action, the seedings are now much clearer ahead of tomorrow's draw for the round robin series in the All-Ireland SFC.

Mayo will be placed in pot 3 for the draw which takes place on GAAGO at 1 p.m.

Once the draw is completed, the fixture list will be drawn up before publication on Friday.

Mayo's first game takes place on the weekend of May 20/21 or May 27/28 and they will be away to one of the provincial title winners.

Mayo's second round match takes place at Hastings Insurance MacHale Park on the weekend of June 3/4.

The final game will be staged at a neutral venue on the weekend of June 17/18.

The seedings are as follows:

Pot One: Provincial winners - Galway/Sligo, Kerry/Clare, Dublin/Louth and Armagh/Derry

Pot Two: Provincial runners-up - Galway/Sligo, Kerry/Clare, Dublin/Louth and Armagh/Derry.

Pot Three: Mayo, Roscommon, Tyrone and Monaghan

Pot Four: Donegal, Cork, Kildare and Westmeath

The top teams in each of the four groups will qualify for the quarterfinals while the second and third-placed sides will clash in preliminary quarterfinals.

New York will join the preliminary quarterfinal stage.

A hectic few weeks lies ahead.
