Funding confirmed for three Mayo projects

Three Mayo projects will receive funding of €9,250 under the Communities Integration Fund.

The three Mayo projects are part of 111 communities nationally who will receive a total of €509,415 to play a greater role in welcoming and integrating migrants and refugees.

A sum of €1,500 has been allocated to Ballyhaunis Community College to fund Ballyhaunis Music Variety Showcase and a further €3,000 has been granted to the Family Resource Centre in Ballyhaunis for their ‘Integrating Together’ project.

A total of €4,750 has been allocated to the ‘Build Your Future’ project at Tacú Family Resource Centre in Ballinrobe.

Deputy Alan Dillon said the Communities Integration Fund has been in place since 2017 and arises from the Migrant Integration Strategy, which called for funding to be made available to local communities throughout Ireland to promote the integration of migrants and refugees.

“I want to congratulate the three Mayo projects that have received funding. Small grants such as these can kick-start small but vital local projects which in turn make a massive difference in people’s lives,” added Deputy Dillon.
