Mayo College of Further Education and Training receives €437,731 Erasmus+ grant
MAYO College of Further Education and Training has been awarded its largest-ever Erasmus+ grant, totalling €437,731, by Leargas, the Irish national agency for Erasmus+.
This grant marks the eighth year Mayo College has been awarded funding through the Erasmus+ programme, bringing the total funding awarded to over €1.5 million.
The college has a long history of supporting students to complete their work placements abroad. With the new funding, Mayo College will continue to expand its reach and internationalise their projects beyond European boundaries. The grant will provide students exciting character-building opportunities in countries around the world.
The Mayo College team is thrilled about the opportunity this grant has presented. Nearly 300 students have already benefited from the Erasmus+ programme, with many citing their work placement experiences as life-changing. This grant will allow Mayo College to expand these opportunities and offer even more students the chance to gain valuable international experience.
College principal Michael Murphy is enthusiastic about the opportunities this grant will bring, and looks forward to expanding their programmes in the years to come. With this grant, the college is well-positioned to continue its efforts to support its students and offer unique educational experiences beyond the traditional classroom.
